Q: Can you install the new unit in the same spot?
A: Yes, 95% of the time. Modern units have similar footprints. If your old unit was in an attic, garage, or exterior wall location, the new unit will mount in the same place. We may need to adjust the mounting bracket or venting, but the location remains the same.
Q: Do I need a permit to replace it?
A: Yes. The City of Houston requires a permit for any water heater replacement to ensure the gas connections and venting meet current safety codes. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection as part of our service. You don’t have to deal with the city.
Q: Will I have hot water tonight?
A: Yes. A standard replacement takes 3-5 hours. We don’t leave until you have hot water. If your gas line needs upsizing (common), the job may extend to 6-7 hours, but we’ll communicate that upfront.
Q: What happens to my old unit?
A: We remove it and dispose of it properly. Tankless units contain copper and electronic components that should be recycled, not thrown in a dumpster. We take it to a certified recycling facility.
Q: Do you offer financing?
A: Yes. A tankless replacement is a significant investment ($2,500-$4,500 depending on gas line work). We offer financing options to make the upgrade manageable.
