Running out of hot water is a choice. Whether you have a large family, a soaking tub, or teenagers who take 20-minute showers, a traditional 50-gallon tank cannot keep up. You need a system that heats water as you use it, forever.

We calculate the gas load, upgrade the venting, and install the recirculation lines that ensure your water is hot the second you turn the handle.

This is the secret most plumbers won’t tell you: A tankless unit consumes 5x more gas than a standard tank.

The Math: Your old tank used ~40,000 BTUs. A Navien NPE-240A uses ~199,000 BTUs.

The Failure: If an installer simply connects the new unit to your old 1/2-inch gas line, the heater will starve. It will throw an “Ignition Failure” code every time you try to fill the tub.

The Blackmon Fix: We almost always upgrade the gas supply line to 3/4-inch or 1-inch to ensure the unit gets the fuel it needs to perform.

We typically complete the conversion in a single day.

Removal: We drain and haul away your old, rusty tank.

Venting: We install dedicated Schedule 40 PVC venting through your roof or sidewall (standard metal vents cannot be used).

Gas Upgrade: We verify your meter capacity and upsize the gas line if needed.

Mounting: We secure the unit to the wall, freeing up massive amounts of floor space in your attic or garage.

Service Valves: We always install isolation valves. This allows us to flush the unit annually without cutting pipes.

There is a difference.

Endless: The tankless unit will never run out. You can shower for 5 hours.

Instant: This depends on Recirculation. If your bathroom is far from the heater, you still have to wait for hot water to travel through the pipes.

The Solution: We install Recirculation Pumps (either dedicated loops or crossover valves) to keep hot water moving through your pipes, so it’s there instantly.

Houston’s water is mineral-rich. Scale buildup is the #1 killer of tankless units.

The Risk: Scale coats the heat exchanger, causing it to overheat and crack.

The Protection: We recommend installing a Scale Prevention System (like a Tac-Ler cartridge) on the cold water inlet.

The Maintenance: Tankless units must be flushed with vinegar solution once a year. We offer maintenance plans to handle this for you.
